Home-based jobs are only available to private individuals. Employees may be hired either on a one-off basis or for the whole year for a variety of tasks - housework or gardening, child-minding or support for the elderly - provided these activities are carried out at the employer's principal or second place of residence.
The home-based employment platform has been in operation since December 1995; its task is to direct potential home-help employers and employees towards the various organizations that can put them in touch with each another. The platform does not put the supply and demand in contact directly, but provides four specific services:

Since it was set up, the scheme has received more than 32,000 calls, nearly 3,600 offers have been made and over 2,200 jobs created.
Since January 2005, 1,338 calls have been received, 112 offers have been made and 79 jobs have been created.
Once an offer has been posted, it is sent to the organizations and/or the ANPE (National Employment Office) so that the interested parties can be put in contact with one another.
If the post is filled, the dossier is closed. Otherwise, a follow-up is sent out to partners.
If a request is being registered, the contact details of the various associations are re-sent and the request is followed up in the same way.
As well as registering job offers and requests, other services are available for employers and employees, including information on employment contracts and pay slips, and help in calculating taxes and other deductions etc.
There are a number of associations and companies that specialize in home-based employement. These bodies are authorized by the Prefecture to offer you their services. They help you find an employee and take care of administrative procedures.
Some of them also offer services for which you pay them directly without being an employer.
For this reason, since they are not specialist associations, the Essonne Economic Development Agency does not put people directly in contact with them. The consultants rely on the national collective agreement on "Employees in the employ of private employers".
